Gwinnett has seen more than enough sprawl and unwanted growth. Shirley is committed to responsible land use, and will concentrate her efforts on the revitalization of our communities in the County.  Shirley will work hand-in-hand with the Gwinnett Place CID to ensure the area takes it's rightful place as a retail, residential, and economic center in Gwinnett County .  She will work to see the Pleasant Hill/I85 Bridge reconstruction comes to fruition to breathe new life into the area.

 

Shirley has been a long-time advocate of commuter rails, HOV lane extensions and other road improvements, but she knows they are merely a beginning and a long term traffic solution is necessary. We need long term planning with a financially sound solution.  By becoming a center for industry, Gwinnett can attract high paying jobs, reduce commuting times, limit traffic congestion, and offer business opportunities for future generations.

 

Shirley will stand behind Gwinnett's Law Enforcement and Fire Department Communities 100%. She will work to improve salaries, and increase the numbers of first responders in Gwinnett County . 

A strong advocate for children, Shirley will work with to make Gwinnett County a safer place for families, and fight against illegal immigration.

Responsible Government
As an effective and successful public servant for the past 14 years, Shirley knows that leaders must work together, not against each other, to solve the problems facing Gwinnett.  She will work with other Commission members, City Officials, and the citizens of District One, to see the people's work is accomplished.
